Military veterans in need of help

Ok, I realize that this is not a ministry and is not affiliated with our church specifically, but I thought it might be a good starting point to get some feedback.

I work for the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and one of my primary duties is finding good people to become what we call payees to help manage veterans benefits (for those veterans who have been deemed incompetent to handle their financial affairs). The veterans who need assistance range from severely injured Iraq/Afghanistan veterans who were recently discharged to WWII veterans who are no longer able to manage their VA disability payments.
Due to the current conflicts and the aging of the WWII generation, there is a pressing need at this time for volunteers to help manage these disability payments. The VA has volunteer opportunities for people who are interested in helping disabled veterans.

Because we need to find trustworthy people to take on these duties, we don't just put this information out for the general public--the people we appoint usually come from word of mouth referrals.  In the past, weve had great success with retired professional people who would like to help veterans.

FYI--this sometimes involves a small fiduciary fee that is paid for the volunteers services and since this is a Federal government program there is an accounting requirement.  If anyone knows of any individuals who might be interested, please pass along my email address: patrick.walls@vba.va.gov.

Thanks, Patrick Walls
